Spherical Air Bearings SRA150-R30 / 620-39223

The model SRA150 air bearing has a 1.5 inch radius sphere and a 170 pound load capacity. The spherical bearing surface carries loads rotating at a nominal air gap of 5 microns. The payload is fastened on the upper flat surface of the sphere while the base features threaded holes for attachment to a pedestal or structural platform. Pneumatic hammering of the air film can plague an air bearing design and result in unstable bearing performance. Unlike other spherical air bearings, the SRA series eliminates this possibility by including vibration dampening features within the design.
