Spherical Air Bearings SRA200-R45 / 620-39130
The 2 inch radius SRA200-R45 air bearing allows continuous 360 degree rotation about the yaw axis and +/-45 degrees about the pitch and roll axes. The SRA series bearings can be fitted with a vacuum pocket allowing for preload and locking of the sphere. With a nominal air gap of 5 microns, the SRA series exhibit zero wear of the mating surfaces. Pneumatic hammering of the air film can plague an air bearing design and result in unstable bearing performance. Unlike other spherical air bearings, the SRA series eliminates this possibility by including vibration dampening features within the design.
