Circular Flat Vacuum Preloaded Air Bearings LRAVP250 / 615-15219
The model LRAVP250 air bearing has a 2.5 inch diameter and a 34 pound load capacity. A vacuum pocket located in the center of the bearing surface incorporates a secondary seal to allow for a nearly constant preload force of about 16 pounds. This helps achieve an air film stiffness of about 120,000 lbs/inch. The flat bearing surface carries loads without friction along guideways at a nominal air gap of 5 microns. Load may be imparted through a centrally located ball seat on the top surface of the air bearing.
